iFix Local – Terms and Conditions of Service

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before engaging iFix Local for any services.

By engaging iFix Local for any services, including but not limited to diagnosis, repair, or sale of products, you (“the Customer”) agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.

1. Authorization and Scope of Work

The Customer grants permission to iFix Local to perform any action deemed necessary to diagnose, repair, or provide service for the submitted device. This may include disassembling the device, running diagnostic tests, and replacing parts. iFix Local will endeavor to provide accurate assessments and estimates; however, final repair costs may vary if unforeseen issues arise. No major work will be performed without customer authorization, unless deemed necessary as part of the initial diagnosis or agreed upon in advance.

2. Data Backup and Loss

Customers are solely responsible for backing up all data, software, and programs on their device prior to submitting it for service. iFix Local is not responsible for any data loss, corruption, or security breaches which may occur, regardless of cause, during or after service. Customers acknowledge that data loss is an inherent risk of device repair.

3. Component Failure and Pre-Existing Conditions

The Customer releases iFix Local from any liability for component failures occurring during attempted repair, testing, or at any other time. This includes, but is not limited to, damage to existing components that may occur during the repair process. Customers acknowledge that devices presented for service may have pre-existing damage, defects, or intermittent issues not immediately apparent upon initial inspection. iFix Local is not responsible for the discovery or repair of such pre-existing conditions or unrelated issues unless specifically agreed upon and noted.

4. Repair Warranty

iFix Local provides a [180 days] warranty on parts and labor directly related to the specific repair performed. This warranty commences from the date of device collection by the Customer. This warranty does not cover:

Subsequent damage caused by customer misuse, accidents, liquid exposure, drops, or unauthorized modifications.

Pre-existing conditions or unrelated issues not addressed during the initial repair.

Software issues, viruses, or data loss.

Repairs performed by third parties after our service.

Any device that has been opened or tampered with by the Customer or a third party after our service.

5. Diagnostic Fees and Estimates

A non-refundable diagnostic fee of [£30] may apply to all devices submitted for assessment, regardless of whether a repair is performed. This fee is [deductible from the final repair cost / non-deductible]. Repair estimates are valid for [7] days.

6. Unclaimed Devices

Devices left unclaimed for more than [30] days after notification of completion, diagnosis, or refusal of service will be considered abandoned. iFix Local reserves the right to dispose of such devices in accordance with applicable laws to recover outstanding charges, including but not limited to diagnostic fees, repair costs, and storage fees.

7. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall iFix Local’s total liability for any and all damages, losses, and causes of action arising from or related to its services exceed the amount paid by the customer for the specific service rendered. iFix Local shall not be liable for any loss of profit or any direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of income, interruption of business, or any other commercial damages or losses, arising out of the use or inability to use the services or products provided, even if iFix Local has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

8. Governing Law

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

9. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting a device for service, the Customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
